Witness and Outreach
We, as Christians, are called by Scriptures and God to pass on the good news of God’s love and Christ’s salvation. The Board of Evangelism has one purpose: “To oversee and give direction to the congregation’s evangelism and outreach activities.” There are two elements to this ministry according to The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod: Witness and Outreach.
Witness is the work we have been given to do as the church scattered. We have opportunities to speak of Jesus with the people in our everyday lives who are our friends, co-workers, neighbors, family members, etc.
Outreach is the work we do as the church gathered. It is our collective effort through ministries, services, events and other activities as the church through which we invite and include others into Word and Sacrament ministry.
Witness & Outreach are distinct, but they work together so people will know of Jesus and be gathered into His Church through us.
Here at Trinity Lutheran Church our Board of Evangelism provides the following programs to witness and outreach:
Visitors are always welcome at TLC. The Board of Evangelism provides visitors with a small gift with a welcome letter from Pastor Webb and other pertinent information. Our new welcome table is in the Narthex and a designated area for visitor information.
New member classes and educational classes are another opportunity from the Board of Evangelism. If you are interested in signing up for a new member class please contact the Church Office at (912) 925-4839.
Through the efforts of the Board of Evangelism, TLC is now a member of the Kroger Community Rewards Program. Please consider participating as this is a great way to earn funds to help with our serving the community. Comfort Dog Ministry
Elizabeth, "Lizzie", Comfort Dog is a trained LCC K-9 Comfort Dog at Trinity Lutheran Church in Savannah, GA. She serves every day in the community in which she is placed and is deployed in times of disaster and crisis to bring comfort to all those affected, including first responders and the volunteers who serve. Lizzie is a friend who brings a calming influence and allows people to open up their hearts and receive help for what is affecting them. Comfort Dogs are available to visit your church or group.

Trinity Lutheran Church cares for you!
We pray for our neighbors, our city and our nation. To help us help you we now have a Prayer Request Mailbox where you can drop off your prayer requests. Just drive up, drop off your prayer request and we will do the rest. You can also call in your prayer requests to the Church Office at (912) 925-4839.
Hearts of Compassion
Hearts of Compassion Helping Hands Ministry is an outreach program at Trinity Lutheran Church. The ministry assists homeless and low-income families with free clothes and food. The ministry receives donated clothing, household items and baby items and distributes them through Savannah/Chatham County and surrounding counties. The ministry also puts together health kits, first aid kits, and other items and distributes them to the homeless community in Savannah. Items needed for health kits include bar soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, nail clippers, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, razors, washing clothes and towels, baby wipes and combs. Items needed for first aid kits include antibacterial cream, anti-itch cream, bug spray, band-aids and gauze. Other items needed include reading glasses, sewing kits, snacks, water, backpacks, underwear, tents, tarps, sleeping bags, and grocery gift cards.
Our year-long drive to help the homeless and families in need has been in place for a few years now. Each month during the year, a new item will be listed. All you have to do is drop your item in the bin at the Donation Station in the Social Hall.

Food Pantry & Brown Bags
The Food Pantry provides food for families who ask for the church’s assistance. The Food Pantry is open Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Items are purchased with generous donations provided by Trinity Lutheran Church members. In addition, the Blessing Box is available 7 days a week. The Blessing Box holds items such as poptop cans, pasta and sauce, cereal, fruit and other items that are easy to pick up and use.
We are in continual need of the following items: canned soup, meat, stew, hash, fruit and vegetables, pasta and pasta sauce, crackers, microwaveable meals, boxed meals w/meat, tuna, cereal and peanut butter and jelly.
Hot Meals for the Homeless
We provide meals for the homeless on Fridays each week. The meal on Friday is a hot meal and the menu varies from spaghetti to fried chicken. The meals are provided for 24-30 homeless people and delivered to them in the small camps.
